I hope everyone had restful and enjoyable holidays. It has been fantastic to see our students transition back to school and produce some outstanding work.
New Principal
I am pleased to announce that our new substantive Principal is Cathy Willis. Cathy is joining us from Lake Grace District High School where she is currently the Principal. Cathy’s first official day with us will be on Monday 12 August in Week 4. She will be visiting the school next Friday 2 August to meet our staff and students and begin handover. This happens to be an assembly day, so we can give her a big Albany Primary School welcome! Congratulations to Cathy on her appointment!
Interschool Cross Country
Our Cross Country team were amazing! They brought home the shield to Albany Primary School with a fantastic victory. Thank you to Mr Dawson and Mr Ashford (Practicum Teacher) for all your efforts with the team. Thanks is also extended to Ms Eley for all her behind the scene work to get the students to the event.
NAIDOC Week Wrap-up
Our school celebrated NAIDOC Week at the end of last term that culminated with an excellent assembly provided by Room 17. Our students had the opportunity to write dreamtime stories, try different food and create art work to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
