I hope everyone was able to enjoy the long weekend with family, and friends. It sure was lovely to have an extra day to switch off from the hustle and bustle of of work life!
Covid Update
There are numerous communications coming from school via Connect with important updates around Covid and restrictions. Thank you to everyone for keeping abreast of these and supporting us in implementing mandates from the Departments of Education and Health. We continue to follow the latest advice from WA Health.
Our Years 3-6 students have been amazing in taking up the mask mandate. They have adapted extremely well. Thank you for your support of this.
For more information on very high caseload protocols, visit wa.gov.au.
I thank you for your understanding as we navigate the next few weeks, in what is anticipated to be a difficult time in our community.
School Photos Week
Next week we welcome back Medhat and his team from SchoolPic Photography to take our annual school photos.
We ask that all students come dressed in their green school shirts for their photos.
We will be ensuring we are “Covid safe” for our photos. If the weather is fine, class photos will be taken outside. Individual photos will be taken with social distancing and students briefly taking their mask off for their photo.
Arrival at School and Pick Up
A reminder that arrival time in the morning is 8:30, please. Several students are arriving far too early at school.
Pick up is 2:50 for Kindy and Pre-Primary; 3:00 for Years 1-6. We appreciate your prompt pick up of students as staff often have other meetings or commitments.
With the weather being so lovely, perhaps you could encourage active transport with your children!
APS Mountain Bike Track
I am super excited that our planned mountain bike trail is almost here! This will be a fantastic, unique feature of our school. We have teamed with Outdoors Great Southern who have been instrumental in helping us plan the trail and will now be assisting in the construction of the trail loop on Saturday 26th March.
This busy bee event needs your help to make the day a success. On the day we will be preparing and installing the trail. Many hands make light work, so the more people we can have to help out, the better. Further information is in our newsletter today. Keep an eye out for the Facebook posts to sign up and help out at the busy bee.
I would especially like to thank Mr Carron for being instrumental in the planning and organisation of this amazing project.
