Dear Parents & Caregivers,
I hope you all enjoyed the Labour Day long weekend and were able to spend some quality time with your family and friends.
Congratulations to Room 7 for their wonderful Assembly on Sun Safety. Thank you to Syd the Seagull and Mr Bruce Beamish for coming to see us at APS.
Over the past 2 weeks our toilets have been a huge issue! Students have been constantly reminded to use the toilets in an appropriate manner. Please have a conversation with your child about Hygiene in the bathroom and support us in our message of ‘do your business and leave’.
Rebranding… join our Subcommittee
We are rebranding… what does that mean? We will be revitalising our School Logo and Motto. To assist inthis process and ensure that the community has a voice in this process we are forming a subcommittee. This group will consist of school staff, school board members and approximately 4 to 5 additional parents. If you are interested in joining the subcommittee please email an EOI to jayde.mcivor@education.wa.edu.au by COB Wednesday 13 March.
More information will be discussed at the P & C Meeting in Week 7, Monday 18 March 2019.

School Board Nominations & Elections
Thank you to all of the parents who have nominated themselves or someone else for the School Board. As nominations closed Wednesday 6 March, I am pleased to share that we had 5 nominations for positions on the board. This means for a second year running we will be putting out a voting slip. Please stay tuned for the nominee information and voting slips.
Swimming Carnival
Good luck to everyone who is competing in the House Swimming Carnival tomorrow Friday 8 March. Being a part of the team and striving for Personal Excellence in all your events is what Inter-house Carnivals are all about!
Car Parks… again!
Parking…thank you to those who have made a conscious effort to park in the correct locations or find alternative parking to the footpath and kerbs. Please remember to abide by the City of Albany signage in relation to parking restrictions. Especially on Suffolk Street to NOT reverse over the footpath into on coming traffic, reverse in so you are driving out.
Playground & Courtyard – Before and After School
If you are allowing your child/ren to play in the courtyard or playground before and after school, it is your responsibility to provide appropriate supervision. Unfortunately, we have had a number of complaints and injuries during these times. Our school expectations, RISE, needs to be demonstrated by your child/ren during these times also. Thank you for your cooperation.
Regards
Mrs Jayde Hewson
