ANZAC Assembly and have a wonderful Easter!

Friday Fun Day

What another amazing way to celebrate the end of the term with your Good Standing; a free lunch and extra play time. Well done to all of the students who demonstrated our RISE expectations all term. I hope you enjoy your celebration.

Thank you to the PBS Staff team for coordinating and organising the event. Also, we appreciate the efforts of the parent volunteers for helping to cook the barbecue and serve ice cream.

The students have been working hard on their hats; we have some very creative cookies here at Albany Primary School! So many exciting designs and creations in the making and we cannot wait to see the results in the parade.

We are also seeing a wonderful involvement and team spirit displayed by all year levels. A special mention goes to the year 6 students who opened the Art Shed with Ms Stein and Ms Eley to help the younger students make their hats.

ANZAC Assembly

What a tremendous effort Room 16 is putting in to hosting this year’s ANZAC assembly. It will be an honour to share in the assembly and commemorate such an important historic day here at Albany Primary School.

Discos

Loud music, yummy food, great dancing and amazing costumes… What more could you ask for at a disco? Thank you to Mrs Goodall and Mr Evans for all of your hard work to make the discos such a success. To staff that attended over the two nights to help with supervision, thanks! Last but not least, well done to the P&C organisers and kitchen helpers for your super effort!

Kindy & Pre-Primary Open Classroom

It was so lovely to see so many parents wandering through the classrooms looking at their child’s work. The OpenClassroom was a trial by the teachers to assist parents in understanding the progression and achievement of the students over Term 1. I look forward to working with staff and parents to assist in creating more opportunities for parents to see student work and know how their child is progressing prior to formal reporting each semester.

Rebranding Survey

Thank you to all of the families for completing the survey this week. We have received an outstanding number of
votes and are looking forward to previewing the results on Friday afternoon. If you have not yet voted you can access the survey via this link: https://www.schoolsurvey.edu.au/s/APSRebrandingSurvey. We will also be working with Pat Williams (our Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer) as we look to incorporate an element or feature to signify the Menang culture and history at Albany Primary School.

Where to from here?

Watch this space in Term 2 for more updates on our rebranding.

On behalf of all of the staff at Albany Primary School I would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday. Take a well-deserved break over Easter, and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all back at school on Tuesday 30 April.

Regards

Mrs Jayde Hewson
